The final decision of the Spanish Supreme Court to force borrowers to pay the Impuesto sobre Actos Juridicos Documentados (AJD) - a tax for the notarization of the sale and loan - has led to general troubles in the country as the same court had previously ruled that banks should cover it. The latest announcement prompted Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to announce that the government would change the law to force banks to pay this mortgage tax, which had previously been paid by customers.
