The counter-terrorism service is investigating an explosion that took place at an apartment in the Ambelokipi area of Athens on the afternoon of 31 October, that killed a man and seriously injured a woman. According to police, a bomb squad dispatched to the third-floor apartment found a gun and a cellphone, which are being examined. Additionally, police said that the woman who sustained life-threatening injuries and is hospitalized in Evangelismos Hospital appears to be familiar to the authorities, which are also looking into the possibility of the man mishandling an explosive device, resulting in the accident.
