epa11344290 Prison staff erect a blockade point in front of La Sante Prison to demand better security conditions after the deaths of two prison officers killed in an ambush, in Paris, France, 16 May 2024. Two prison officers were killed and three others were injured when gunmen attacked a prison van on 14 May, helping a prisoner escape. A major police manhunt was launched to find the gunmen and the escaped prisoner, identified as a 30-year-old drug dealer from northern France, according to the Paris prosecutor's office. Prison workers all over France are demanding better conditions from the Minister of Justice in order to prevent further attacks. EPA/Teresa Suarez
