Thousands of Houthi supporters rallied in Sana'a against the siege imposed on the war-ridden country by the Saudi-led coalition as well as the alleged US military support for the coalition which has been fighting the Houthis for seven years. The protesters called on the United Nations to put more pressure on the US and the Saudi-led coalition to lift a naval and air blockade imposed on Yemen, that has severely restricted the flow of fuel suppliers to the country since escalating war erupted in March 2015. The protesters held up Yemeni flags and chanted anti-US and Saudi Arabia slogans, holding the US responsible for the siege since it allegedly provides military aid for the Saudi-led coalition since March 2015.
