The pilgrimage that in the past years was celebrated along one week, allowing for thousands Orthodox worshipers from all over the country to venerate Saint Dimitrie's relics, was restricted this year at three days, and only for believers from Bucharest city. The golden box containing the relics were fully covered in thick acrylic glass, that is whipped with disinfectant by young volunteers after each worshipper's contact, all people must to wear protection masks at all time and there is one way path access, strictly designed in a way that worshippers to preserve a minimum distance regarding Covid 19 safety measures. Romania's capital exceeded last week 3 infected people per 1000 inhabitants, and city council implemented strict measures to stop the virus spreading by closing all the schools, indoor restaurants, cafes and casinos, banning all indoor public events.
