Sanchez faces an investiture debate that could lead to his election as the Prime Minister of the first coalition Government of Spain if a deal with left-wing coalition Unidas Podemos (UP) is reached. The investiture debate comes about three months after the general elections in Spain, in which Sanchez obtained 123 seats. Sanchez will need an absolute majority with 176 votes in the first vote scheduled for 23 July, to be successful.
