Finnish media reported on 11 January 2019 that police in Oulu are investigating four new allegations of sexual crimes against under-15-year old girls in the town. The crimes include rape, aggravated sexual abuse of a minor and sexual abuse of a minor during the summer of 2018. The city has previously experienced three similar crimes that took place in November 2018, where the alleged suspects were also identified as having a migrant background. The police says there are now altogether 16 suspects, all 9 victims were under 15-years-old and cautions Oulu residents of contact attempts by persons with foreign background through social media.
