Saudi Arabian official media on 19 October reported that journalists Jamal Khashoggi died as a result of a physical altercation inside the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul, where he was last seen entering on 02 October for routine paperwork. On 24 October, Mohammed bin Salman spoke of the killing of Khashoggi for the first time, describing it as 'a heinous crime that cannot be justified', and that Saudi Arabia and Turkey will work together to punish all culprits.
