epa06222091 People stay outdoors as new 6.4 earthquake hit Mexico City, Mexico, 23 September 2017. According to reports the epicenter of the new quake was registered 12 kilometers north from Ixtepec in Oaxaca state, the same area where last 07 September a 8.2 earthquake shook the country leaving 98 dead. The strong aftershock was felt through Mexico City, swaying buildings and sending residents fleeing to the street. The quake was much weaker than the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that hit on 19 September, killing at least 295 people and knocking down buildings across the capital.
