epa08820206 Supporters and sympathizers of the Kick Out Zwarte Piet action group (KOZP) take part in a demonstration against Zwarte Piet (Black Pete) in Breda, the Netherlands, 14 November 2020. The character of Zwarte Piet, the companion of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas), is part of pre-Christmas festivities in the country dating back to the 19th century. In recent years, it has become the subject of much controversy, as the character is usually portrayed by white people wearing black face paint, thick red-painted lips, and frizzy black wigs, which many consider to be racist. The national arrival of Sinterklaas in November 2020 has been organized at a secret location without an audience due to the coronavirus. In the rest of the country, arrivals have been canceled due to the pandemic. EPA/REMKO DE WAAL
