epa06706375 A general view of a half-mile long fissure ejects steam resulting from the movement of magma beneath Kilauea's east rift zone, beginning at the western wall of the crater Pu'u 'O'o, on Hawaii, 01 May 2018 (issued 02 May 2018). Media reports on 02 May 2018 state that local authorities are now officially warning of a possible eruption of the Kilauea after an underground barrier of the Pu'u 'O'o crater collapsed and seismic activities and more than 250 local earthquakes had been detected until 01 May evening. The collapse of Pu'u 'O'o crater's floor reportedly continues to erode its walls and generates huge explosions of ashes. EPA/BRUCE OMORI
