The two-story house, characterized by a red-tiled roof, is located in the Beirut neighborhood of the Zuqaq al-Blat district near the center of the Lebanese capital, which was historically famous for its aristocratic character and palaces with tiled roofs. The Ministry of Culture, in coordination with the National Heritage Foundation, has approved a project to transform Fayrouz's childhood home in Beirut's Zuqaq al-Blat into a museum, and it will include exhibitions showcasing Fayrouz's life and her long and rich career in music and film. Fayrouz, born Nohad Haddad, turned 90 in November, and she currently lives in the Rabieh area, an upscale hill town northeast of Beirut. EPA/WAEL HAMZEH
