According to the Directorate General of Health Services, a total of 118 suspected measles deaths, mostly among children, have been reported since 15 March, including five in the last 24 hours. Bangladesh launched an emergency vaccination campaign on 05 April in 30 upazilas, targeting more than one million children as a fast-spreading outbreak sweeps across the country. The campaign will expand to four city corporations from 12 April and nationwide from 03 May. Led by the ministry with support from UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the initiative began in 18 high-risk districts, according to a joint press release.
